Your baby is about the size of a head of lettuce.

Common this week: Colostrum leaking, Braxton Hicks, Wrist/hand numbness, Back pain, Heartburn, Fatigue returning.
Baby development
- The baby's eyes are beginning to open for the first time.
- The eyes have been developing colour (iris pigmentation continues after birth).
- The sucking reflex is strong — the baby may be sucking its thumb.
- The immune system is strengthening through antibodies passed from mum.
Changes for you
- Colostrum (first milk) may begin leaking from breasts.
- Braxton Hicks can feel stronger and more frequent.
- You may notice the baby has preferred activity times (often evening).
- Wrist, hand, and finger numbness (carpal tunnel) can worsen.
Tips
- This is a great week to start thinking about your birth plan.
- Breast pads can help with any colostrum leaking.

- Book your antenatal classes if not yet done.

- Routine antenatal check.
- GD results review if test done.
Warning signs
- Regular tightening more than 4 per hour
- Watery discharge (amniotic fluid leaking)
- No fetal movement for 12+ hours
