Your baby is about the size of a lime.

Common this week: Nausea (easing for some), Headaches, Increased discharge, Fatigue, Heartburn.
Baby development
- Bones are beginning to harden (ossify) throughout the body.
- The baby is covered in fine, transparent skin through which blood vessels are visible.
- Fingers and toes are fully separated.
- External genitalia is forming but not yet distinguishable on ultrasound.
Changes for you
- Some women notice a slight reduction in nausea.
- Blood volume is increasing — you may feel your heart beating faster.
- Headaches are common from increased blood flow.
- Skin and hair may change as hormones shift.
Tips
- Schedule your NT scan this week if not yet booked — time-sensitive.
- If you have a headache, paracetamol in the recommended dose is generally considered safe — always confirm with your GP.
- Start moisturising your belly to support skin elasticity.
- Consider joining a local prenatal class — NSW Health offers free classes at many hospitals.
Appointments
- Nuchal translucency (NT) scan — MUST be done by 13 weeks 6 days.
- First trimester combined screening blood test (PAPP-A and hCG).
Warning signs
- Severe persistent headache
- Visual disturbances
- Sudden swelling
