Baby development
- Ovulation occurs around day 14 of a 28-day cycle (may vary).
- An egg is released and can be fertilised for up to 24 hours.
- Sperm can survive in the reproductive tract for up to 5 days.
Changes for you
- Ovulation may cause a brief, sharp pain (mittelschmerz) on one side.
- Cervical mucus becomes clear and stretchy — a fertile sign.
- Body temperature rises slightly after ovulation.
Tips
- This is your most fertile window — if trying to conceive, this is the key week.
- Continue folic acid supplementation.
- Stay well hydrated and maintain gentle exercise.
- Reduce stress — it can affect fertility hormones.
Warning signs
- Severe one-sided pain (could indicate ovarian issues)
